The Chakra Collection: Third Eye Chakra Stones for Intuition and Inner Sight
The Chakra Collection · Fridays
The Third Eye
Amethyst, Labradorite & Azurite — stones for inner sight
The sixth gate: where the body learns to see
We have climbed a long way. Root at the base, steady as a floor. Sacral and its current of feeling. Solar plexus, the small sun of will. Heart, the wide green room of love. Throat, where the inner life first turned into sound. And now we rise past speaking altogether, to the brow — to the place that sees before the eyes do.
The third eye chakra, Ajna, sits in the space between the brows, a finger-width above the bridge of the nose. Its name means to perceive, and also to command, and both are right. This is the center of intuition, of the hunch you cannot explain, of the dream that turns out to be a message, of the quiet knowing that arrives before the reasons do. When it is clear, you trust what you sense; you read a room, a person, a situation, and you are usually right. When it is clouded, you second-guess everything — you have the knowing but you talk yourself out of it, and you call that being sensible.
Indigo is its color, the deep blue-violet of the sky just after the last light goes. The stones that answer to it are stones of depth and shift, each one teaching the inner sight a little differently.
The stones of the brow
Amethyst is the clear, quiet mind. Soft violet, the most beloved stone in the whole collection, it is the one I reach for when the problem is not a lack of intuition but too much noise around it. Amethyst settles the mental chatter the way dusk settles a loud day, and in that settling the true sense has room to surface. It is the stone of discernment — not of having more thoughts, but of knowing which of them to believe.
Labradorite is the stone of the flash. Grey at rest, then catching the light and throwing back a sudden blaze of blue and gold and green — labradorescence, they call it, and no two stones flare the same way. It is the perfect emblem for insight itself: the ordinary surface that, turned just so, reveals the hidden thing beneath. Labradorite is said to guard the intuition as it wakes, a stone for the threshold, for the moment you begin to trust what you see.
Azurite is the deep well. An intense, saturated indigo — the old alchemists called it the stone of heaven — it is the most inward of the three. Where amethyst quiets and labradorite flashes, azurite draws you down into the still water where the real knowing lives. It is a stone for reflection, for the long look inward, for the questions that do not have quick answers and were never meant to.
A small practice for the inner sight
Rest one of these stones lightly against the brow for the length of three slow breaths. Ask no questions and seek no vision. Simply notice the first thing that rises when the thinking stops — an image, a word, a plain sense of yes or no. The third eye does not shout. It offers, once, and waits to see if you were listening.
How to work with them
These are stones to keep near the head and the quiet hours. A pair of amethyst studs, a labradorite pendant that flashes when you turn — our crystal pieces are made to live against the skin, where a stone is easiest to remember. Keep azurite on the nightstand or the desk, somewhere your eye lands when you pause, and let it be a small invitation to look inward before you look anything up.
And if you are not sure which of the three is yours, that is itself a third-eye question, and you already half know the answer. Take the quiz — a few questions about where you feel clouded, and it will point you toward the stone that fits the way you need to see.
The brow is where the whole climb turns quiet. Everything we have gathered — the grounding, the feeling, the will, the love, the voice — finally has somewhere to be understood rather than merely felt. These three stones do not grant you second sight. They grant you the stillness to trust the sight you already have.

Next Friday we reach the summit, to the crown — Clear Quartz, Selenite, and the stones of the open sky.
